𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵!
𝗠𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵.
You will recall that on the 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬, our beloved country Nigeria recorded the first case of corona virus (COVID-19). Since then, the governments at all levels have been battling to contain the virus with every available measure in order to reduce its spread to a manageable level.

Consequently, the Federal Government, State and Local Governments have developed various strategies in ensuring that citizens are not terribly affected by the virus. These include the total lockdown of some parts of the country and partial lockdown in others.

These actions though in good faith have, however, caused hardship to citizens of the country especially the youth population most of who rely on daily means of substenance.

It is on the strength of this therefore, that, I, the 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 in collaboration with my Executive members and some critical partners deem it necessary to give out some 𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 to cushion the effects of the lockdown as a result of the 𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗗-𝟭𝟵.

Accordingly, the Youth Council under my leadership is giving out (𝟮𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬) 𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲: 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶, 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

This gesture as I mentioned earlier, is in collaboration with the 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗮 𝗢𝗶𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝘁𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸-𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿'𝘀 dream of placing the 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 on a pedestal where they can compete favourably with their counterparts around the world. Together we can achieve more.

Finally, I appeal to all citizens to stay safe and hopeful that this pandemic by the 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁.

𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧, 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗟 𝗢𝗙 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗔 (𝗡𝗬𝗖𝗡), 𝗔𝗠𝗕. 𝗦𝗨𝗞𝗨𝗕𝗢 𝗦A𝗥A-𝗜𝗚𝗕𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗞𝗨𝗕𝗢

My dear 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 Y𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 , as we celebrate 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿, we are reminded of love, sacrifice and renewal.

The world has been constrained and restrained by the 𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗗 -𝟭𝟵 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 which like 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 did on the cross, requires all of us to make our own sacrifices to end the spread of the disease.
These are trying times all over the world which calls for sober reflection.

The 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 our lord and saviour depicts the possibility of our renewal and rise above all challenges.

I come to you all regardless of religious believes or orientation with a message of hope that we will rise above our present situation, 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿!

I know that the e𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝗷𝘂𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 and in fact every Nation, lies squarely on the shoulders of the Youth. I implore us all to put mind to work as the stay-at-home or lockdown exercise has snoozed economic activities making the Nation bleed money in an attempt to battle the spread of the disease while also trying to maintain law, order and sustain 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Crisis makes great men and leaders just like the need for salvation made Jesus' sacrifice even greater. I strongly believe in the capacity of my 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 to pull this country through during and after the 𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗗 - 𝟭𝟵 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰. Christ did not die and rise again to give life and hope so that a virus will kill us but to wash away our sins and give us salvation, so I implore us to save lives, stay safe, stay at home and obey all 𝗵𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 regulations outlined by the 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝗡𝗖𝗗𝗖 and other relevant authorities.

This is also the best time to 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 just as love led Jesus to die for the world. Share what little you have with others, call friends and ask how they are fairing, reconcile with foes and adversaries.

Once again, happy 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 to you all and while we are not oblivious of the fact that 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬 is celebrated in peculiar circumstances, there shall be better 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 and better days ahead.

May all the blessings that come with 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 and what it stands for reach you all. God bless the 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵. 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮.

PRAYER FROM THE PRESIDENT NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA, Amb Sukubo Saraigbe Sukubo TO LEADERS ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Dear God,

All authority is Yours, but You have given authority to leaders to protect and guide us. Today, we ask that You would give all our leaders wisdom, discernment, strength, and resolve. Keep them healthy, safe, and rested so that they can continue to guide us through this troubling time.

Give our government leaders wisdom about what needs to be done to stop the virus and stabilize our economy.

Give our spiritual leaders Your discernment on how to meet people’s needs as they continue to glorify Your name and encourage the Church.

Give our medical leaders insight into how to stop the virus. Strengthen their resolve and honor their hard work in creating a treatment for COVID-19.

Give our civic leaders inspiration, courage, joy, and strength to meet the needs of their communities.

And help us, as leaders in our communities, to display courage, hope, generosity, and kindness. Would the way we honor others inspire those around us.

It is with a heavy heart but with gratitude to God Almighty, that I received the sad news of the passing of your dear mother, 𝗛𝗮𝗷𝗶𝘆𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘄𝘂 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗢𝗰𝗵𝗶.
