NYCN LEADERSHIP DISSOCIATES SELF FROM HONOR CONFERRED ON FORMER PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO BY VILLAINS
“Only The Honorable Can/Must Confer Honors”
A national fraud was yesterday carried out in Abeokuta in the name of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, by charlatans running rackets with the collective identity of Nigeria Youths.
The National Leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria was dismayed on conceiving the news of an honor conferred on former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo as “Father of the Nation” and a donation of One Million Naira cheque to buy books to Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential library by one Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere and Nihi Oladele John in the name of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. This occurrence is not only unfortunate but a national robbery in broad daylight.
The leadership of the Council has on several occasion dissociate self from Ikenga and Niyi who are political jobbers without virtue, known scavengers. They are long fordrive from the activities of the council and does not represent the interest/structure of the council at any level. The general public is therefore advised not to fall victim of the duo.
It’s worrisome that a prominent personality as the former President of Nigeria could fall prey of swindlers who have successfully rob off his integrity in the name of Award and Cheque presentation. It’s expected of the former President to ascertain the authenticity of the group and their claims before opening his door to the impostors.
It’s quite perturbing to believe the former President is desperate for honors to have fallen for such a dupe. It’s a shame to assume its a deliberate act by the former President to support illegality and division among Nigeria Youth. To be worthy of the honor one must be able to stand for what is right.
The National leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria under the leadership of Amb. Sukubo Sariagbe Sukubo hereby distances self and Nigeria Youth from the Abeokuta charade as it does not have the backing of Nigeria Youth and it’s orchestrated by impostors of the Council. If the former President is to be honored, this will be the decision of Nigeria Youth with due process. The Youth Council is not a platform for the political jamboree, and our leadership has zero tolerance for such.

The president, National Youth Council of Nigeria Amb Sukubo

President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic
of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR for the approval of the Belema Oil
Crude oil Exporting terminal in Akuku-toru local Government area of
The approval by the Federal Government Authorizing
Belema Oil, an indigenous oil firm to operate a new floating crude oil
export terminal off the coast of *kula* is a welcome development.
The new terminal which will be known as Belema Oil Terminal, Kula, is
expected to create more than 10,000 jobs and other opportunities for
unemployed youths in Kula kingdom, Akuku-Toru LGA, Rivers State, Niger
Delta and Nigeria in general.
Kula, the highest producer of oil
and gas as a single community in the country, at the peak of it’s
production, produces about 200,000 barrels of oil with 1,500,000 cf of
gas contributing to the National economy with about N5,000,000,000,000
(five billion naira) per day. The oil windfall era of previous
governments had never recognized us so.
This singular act of Mr.
President, revives our faith in the policies and programs of this
administration, and we can strongly affirm that this administration is
more than determined to ensure that the Youths of Nigeria are gainfully
and productively engaged.
It is therefore a glorious coincidence
that I, a son of Kula, has also been given the opportunity to lead the
youth of Nigeria as President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
Both opportunities will go a long way in assuaging the tears and
hardship borne out of years of neglect of the people of Kula and Niger
I equally thank *President Muhammadu Buhari* for his love
to me as a person and his unalloyed support to the apex youth body in

N75 Billion Youth Investment Fund: NYCN President, Sukubo commends President Buhari and Minister of Youth Development – Sunday Dare
…... Urges the youth to take good advantage of the opportunity
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) commends President Muhammdu Buhari and the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Sunday Dare for the 75 billion naira - Nigeria Youth Intervention Fund (NYIF), approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday 22nd July, 2020.
NYCN President, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo in a statement he personally signed, Wednesday urged the over 85 million Nigeria Youth to take good advantage of this opportunity and uplift not just their living standard, but to turn around the economy of Nigeria.
Amb. Sukubo explained that the just approved 75 billion naira fund came at the most appropriate time. It is a known fact that the COVID -19 pandemic has impacted negatively on the lives of many Nigerian Youth. Many Youth are out of business, some have lost their jobs while hopes of thousands of our youth expecting support from family and friends have been dashed as a result of the pandemic. So there is no better time than now. President Buhari has rekindled the hope of a common man in his administration’s determination to move Nigeria forward.
We are proud that President Muhammdu Buhari has once again confirmed that he his not just the grand patron of NYCN but also the father of Nigerian Youths at large.. It is known to us that most of the policies and programmes of this administration are for the benefits of the youths. With NPower Scheme for the youths, Anchor Borrower Programme for the youths, Youths Agriculture Intervention Programmes, 774, 000 Special Works Recruitment, signing of the not too young to run act, appointments and inclusion of youths in government among others, Nigeria youths will forever be grateful to President Muhammdu Buhari. No President in the history of Nigeria has ever done this much for Nigeria youths. We commend this administration for all these.
On the other hand, we also commend our dogged Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Sunday Dare for all his effort towards uplifting the lives of Nigeria Youths. Under his reign as Minister in few months, Nigeria youth have witnessed many positive changes and development.
While we at NYCN pledge our continuous undiluted support to support President Muhammdu Buhari’s administration and the Minister of Youths and Sport Development, Sunday Dare to take Nigeria Youths to the promise land and to put an end to joblessness of our youths, like Oliver Twist we charge the President not to relent and to continue to empower the youths for the development of Nigeria. To the youths, the President has challenged us to proof our capacity; Nigeria youths with genuine business ideas should take this opportunity to become employers of labor. They should as a matter of urgency and in the interest of their love ones access the credit facilities and fund their ideas, innovations and also support their enterprise.
The ‘youth bank’ is an initiative that if fully utilize and effectively monitored will reduce poverty, crime rate, alarming rate of unemployment among our youths and it will as a matter of fact curb some of these social vices we are confronted with.
Finally, NYCN urge the ministry of youths and other relevant stakeholders to fast track the processes and create and enabling environment for deserving youths to tap from this laudable opportunity. ... See MoreSee Less
