All is getting set and dignitaries arriving for the distribution of the Yuletide packages by the benevolent and capacity President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Amb Sukubo Saraigbe Sukubo to NYCN members across the 36 States of the federation and all affiliate bodies.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria has watched with dismay the continuous attacks on Nigerians in South Africa which has resulted to the death of countless of lives, destruction of properties worth millions of dollars, harassment and intimidations of Nigerians in the soil of Africa.
Xenophobic attacks are unacceptable anywhere around the world and especially in a country that has Africa in its official name, Whose National Anthem is GOD BLESS AFRICA; Whose ruling party is Africa National Congress and Whose National event starts with Africa Union Anthem.
We equally place on records the contribution of Nigeria during the time of Apartheid in South Africa. How Nigerians played a pivotal role in standing against imperialism of the whites to South Africans.
Because of these and other related issues, *The* *National* *Youth* *Council* *of* *Nigeria* demands as follows:
1, That the attacks of Nigerians in South Africa should stop immediately
2, That the South Africa Government must apologize to the Government of Nigeria and its Citizens on this dastardly acts of xenophobic attacks.
3, That the Government of South Africa must Guarantee the safety of Nigerians who are still willing to remain in South Africa for their legitimate businesses.
4, That the South Africa Government must assure the Government of Nigeria that there will be no further attack of any kind to Nigerians in South Africa.
On the other hand, the National Youth Council of Nigeria expects the Federal Government of Nigeria to:
1, Petition the Africa Union (AU) on the need to summon an Emergency meeting of the AU on xenophobic attacks on Africa Foreign Nationals in South Africa particularly Nigerians.
2, The Nigeria Government should set up a fact-finding committee to look at the immediate and remote cause of the xenophobic attacks and recommend appropriate steps to forestall further attacks.
3, The National Youth Council of Nigeria expects the Africa Union (AU) to design modalities to bring to an end, the attacks on Africa Foreign Nationals anywhere in the world
4, The National Youth Council of Nigeria expects the Federal Government of Nigeria to design a special business package that can woo business men and women in South Africa to return to Nigeria and start up same businesses in Nigeria
5, The Federal Government of Nigeria should discourage Nigerians from travelling to South Africa for greener Pasture by providing a conducive environment for Businesses to thrive.
Much as we agree that the Federal Government of Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) is working assiduously in ensuring the safety of Nigerians in South Africa and anywhere in the world, We call on all Youth of Nigeria to remain law abiding and peaceful as we assure young people of our resolve in promoting peace, unity and progress of all irrespective of Nationality.
To keep the records straight, the National Youth Council of Nigeria will not negotiate with the South Africa High Commissioner and the National Youth Council of Nigeria will dissociate itself from the so-called leaders of the council who went to negotiate the lives of Nigerians for money.
However, we commend the President of National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) for his leadership disposition on the matter.
Finally, as patriotic citizens of Nigeria, we will continue to follow happenings in South Africa as it concerns xenophobic attacks and any other issue relating to this matter.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA
GOD BLESS AFRICA
GOD BLESS AFRICA UNION

NYCN LEADERSHIP DISSOCIATES SELF FROM HONOR CONFERRED ON FORMER PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO BY VILLAINS
“Only The Honorable Can/Must Confer Honors”
A national fraud was yesterday carried out in Abeokuta in the name of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, by charlatans running rackets with the collective identity of Nigeria Youths.
The National Leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria was dismayed on conceiving the news of an honor conferred on former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo as “Father of the Nation” and a donation of One Million Naira cheque to buy books to Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential library by one Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere and Nihi Oladele John in the name of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. This occurrence is not only unfortunate but a national robbery in broad daylight.
The leadership of the Council has on several occasion dissociate self from Ikenga and Niyi who are political jobbers without virtue, known scavengers. They are long fordrive from the activities of the council and does not represent the interest/structure of the council at any level. The general public is therefore advised not to fall victim of the duo.
It’s worrisome that a prominent personality as the former President of Nigeria could fall prey of swindlers who have successfully rob off his integrity in the name of Award and Cheque presentation. It’s expected of the former President to ascertain the authenticity of the group and their claims before opening his door to the impostors.
It’s quite perturbing to believe the former President is desperate for honors to have fallen for such a dupe. It’s a shame to assume its a deliberate act by the former President to support illegality and division among Nigeria Youth. To be worthy of the honor one must be able to stand for what is right.
The National leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria under the leadership of Amb. Sukubo Sariagbe Sukubo hereby distances self and Nigeria Youth from the Abeokuta charade as it does not have the backing of Nigeria Youth and it’s orchestrated by impostors of the Council. If the former President is to be honored, this will be the decision of Nigeria Youth with due process. The Youth Council is not a platform for the political jamboree, and our leadership has zero tolerance for such.

The president, National Youth Council of Nigeria Amb Sukubo Sara-igbe Sukubo, whole-heartedly expresses his gratitude to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR for the approval of the Belema Oil Crude oil Exporting terminal in Akuku-toru local Government area of Rivers state.
The approval by the Federal Government Authorizing Belema Oil, an indigenous oil firm to operate a new floating crude oil export terminal off the coast of *kula* is a welcome development.
The new terminal which will be known as Belema Oil Terminal, Kula, is expected to create more than 10,000 jobs and other opportunities for unemployed youths in Kula kingdom, Akuku-Toru LGA, Rivers State, Niger Delta and Nigeria in general.
Kula, the highest producer of oil and gas as a single community in the country, at the peak of it’s production, produces about 200,000 barrels of oil with 1,500,000 cf of gas contributing to the National economy with about N5,000,000,000,000 (five billion naira) per day. The oil windfall era of previous governments had never recognized us so.
This singular act of Mr. President, revives our faith in the policies and programs of this administration, and we can strongly affirm that this administration is more than determined to ensure that the Youths of Nigeria are gainfully and productively engaged.
It is therefore a glorious coincidence that I, a son of Kula, has also been given the opportunity to lead the youth of Nigeria as President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. Both opportunities will go a long way in assuaging the tears and hardship borne out of years of neglect of the people of Kula and Niger Delta.
I equally thank *President Muhammadu Buhari* for his love to me as a person and his unalloyed support to the apex youth body in the country, the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
I therefore enjoin all youths of Nigeria to arise in one accord, setting aside religious, ethnic or political differences in solemn obedience to this call to support Mr. President’s agenda to move our nation to greater height.
I also seize this moment to appreciate most immensely the former Honourable Minister of Youth & Sports Development, Hon Solomon Selcap Dalung Esq for his respect and regard for the rule of law, which he overtly demonstrated through his due recognition of *Amb Sukubo Sara-igbe Sukubo led executive council as the authentic and legal leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria and thus bringing peace to the youth constituency. He is indeed a hero, whose indelible marks are indisputable and unparalleled.
Mr President, be rest assured of the unwaivering support of the Niger Delta youth in ensuring the success of your second tenure.
Long Live, National Youth Council of Nigeria.
Long Live, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
